Information collected

Registration Information

By registering an account, you provide some personally-identifiable information (such as your name, email-address, and date of birth) which is stored securely and used to identify your account and to facilitate any correspondence with you as required. Certain information, such as a valid e-mail address, is required in order to create an account, but additional information may be submitted if desired. Any information submitted in this manner will be private, and only accessible to the website administrator. Such information will never be disclosed to third parties without the express permission of the account holder.

Non-personally-identifiable information

In addition to information you specifically provide, certain pages or games within the website may record information which is not personally-identifiable, such as your IP address (which identifies your computer or network on the internet) and information about the browser version you are using to access the site or client version you are using in order to access the games or chat facilities; this information helps to facilitate account recovery in case of the loss of login details, to prevent disruption to the service by problematic users, and for other functions which facilitate our services.

Certain pages on this website may also deploy cookies; these are small pieces of information which are stored temporarily on your computer and which may later be retrieved (though only by this website). The main purpose of this is to allow login session data to be recorded so that you can be identified as having logged in as a specific user. You may configure your browser to reject cookies if desired, but this may disrupt the proper functioning of some parts of the website.

Information shared in chat

While using "chat" features via our services, it is important to remember that any information shared in chat rooms is made immediately public, and that anyone may be able to subsequently obtain your information. We therefore strongly discourage the sharing of any personally-identifiable information via our chat features. Please also bear in mind that our servers may record and store a log of any and all chat via any of our services for the purpose of ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our services by all users and to deal with abusive or problematic users; these logs may include "private" chat taking place between two users.

We take information security very seriously, and while sharing your own personal information via chat is not prohibited (though discouraged), sharing others' personal information via our service is liable to result in termination of your account, regardless of the accuracy of such information. If you suspect someone of sharing such information, or if they are sharing your information, this can be reported via e-mail or by contacting an administrator or moderator in-chat.

We use reliable modern methods to ensure the security of any information provided to us, especially personally-identifiable information. Such information is stored in a database accessible only to website administrators who may need to access or maintain the database as part of maintaining the site and its services. We take all reasonable and appropriate precautions to prevent unauthorised access to your information.

In order to ensure that your account details are not compromised, we also recommend that you, the user, take precautions to secure your password, by ensuring that it cannot be easily guessed or cracked using a password-cracking program (for example, by using uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and punctuation or foreign characters), and that it is not recorded, either on your computer, on paper, or anywhere else where it may be accessed. To aide in password security, we also enforce a minimum password length of 6 characters.

In addition to being stored securely within our database, your password is first encrypted in such a way as to make it practically impossible to reverse-engineer a "strong" password as suggested above. This means that even database administrators will be unable to view your password in a plain-text form.

Accuracy of Information

We take all appropriate measures to ensure that stored information is accurate and up-to-date in order to comply with the Data Protection Act. By submitting any information to us, you confirm that such information is accurate as of the time it is submitted.
